Wreck dive
USAT Liberty
One of the most iconic wreck dives, this cargo ship is a relic from WWII that was crippled by a Japanese war ship and beached on the shore of Tulamben. In 1963 Mount Agung erupted, causing the Liberty to slide underwater to where she rests today, just 25 meters offshore. Today, it's a premier reef site with vibrant corals and incredibly diverse marine life. This is a must-visit dive site, beloved by new and experienced divers alike!

Drop Off
Drop Off: nSitting at the end of the bay, Tulamben wall starts at the surface and descends over 50 meters with overhanging rocks full of large coral formations, colorful sponges, and schooling fishes. This stunning wall is home to big and small marine life, with hidden macro creatures, turtles, and the potential to see reef sharks cruising by in the blue.

Coral Garden
One of the most colorful dive sites in the area, this shallow reef lies close to shore with artificial reef structures, sunken statues, and a stunning display of soft corals and fish. This is a favorite for underwater photography and spotting clownfish or beautiful ribbon eels.

Macro dive
Seraya Secret
One of Bali’s top “muck dive” sites, this volcanic sandy slope is a haven for macro marine life, including rare nudibranchs, harlequin shrimp, mimic octopus, pygmy seahorse, frogfish, and more. This is a true paradise for underwater macro photographers.

Wreck dive
Boga Wreck
Intentionally sunk in 2012, this government patrol boat now serves as an artificial reef and commitment to marine conservation. Though corals have yet to colonize the ship, a wide variety of marine life calls this shipwreck home including moray eels, batfish, and schools of barracuda and trevally. With a depth of 18-36 meters, this is perfect for advanced certified divers or those doing a deep dive specialty. Don’t forget to explore the unique swim throughs, or the artifacts scattered on the seafloor around the wreck!

Reef dive
Emerald
A short 10-minute boat ride brings you to this lesser-visited dive site known for its fantastic visibility, artificial reefs, and impressive coral structures. With white sand and colder water, this is a nice contrast to the dive sites in Tulamben Bay! Here you have a chance to see larger pelagics like tuna, sharks, turtles, and the occasional mola mola as you explore some of the healthiest corals around.

Macro / Reef dive
Sidem / Batu Belah
Also called “Batu Belah,” this is a true macro-photographer’s dream site. With the classic Tulamben volcanic slopes and vibrant coral reefs, this is a perfect spot to hunt macro in multiple underwater terrains. During the day you can find the elusive harlequin shrimp, frog fish, and rare nudibranchs, but this site is also popular at night to see boxer crabs, coconut octopus, mantis shrimp, and more.

Batu Ringgit
A lesser-visited dive site north of Tulamben, Batu Ringgit is another heavy-hitter for macro diving. With a combination of sandy slope, rubble patches, and coral ridges, this is a great spot to look for rare and strange critters. As Batu Ringgit is a relatively protected area, this is a favorite spot for those slow, leisure dives focused on photography.

Kadek (Nonong) Suteja has lived in Tulamben his whole life and has been in the local diving industry since 1997. Recently, he has opened Tulamben Dive Adventures with his son, Gede (Andika), to carry on his legacy and passion for diving.
Here at Tulamben Dive Adventures, we want divers of all levels to enjoy the vibrant underwater world. Whether you’re new to diving, a seasoned expert, or looking to improve your skills and certifications, we have options for everyone. We take great responsibility to our guests in ensuring our equipment is well maintained, dives are safely executed, and everyone has a good time. Our dive masters and instructors have logged countless dives around all Tulamben and are thoroughly familiar with the geography and the biodiversity of different sites.
